Stormy Porthcawl lighthouse

Porthcawl Lighthouse. On a windy, gusty, stormy, high tide day is teaming with photographers who are keen to capture the iconic wave crashes over the seafront. For me this was about something else, the relationship between the lighthouse and the weather, the waves here form that bond between the two. This was a busy day at Porthcawl but I waited for the light to be well beyond dusk, the light from the lighthouse lit up and added the final piece to the photograph. This image was shortlisted for Landscape Photographer of the year 2012.
