Pen Y Fan Blue Hour. The mountain dominates the countryside around Brecon. Tucked in on one of the backroads of Brecon is a lovely layby. Or rather pull-in. It is a road I drive every day. A popular pull-in and no wonder, with view across the rolling farmland towards the central Brecon Beacons.

Photographed from that infamous layby. I don’t advocate pull-in photography, but on a return from the hills of the Black Mountains, I really couldn’t resist. A wonderful snowfall and covered the hills at a high level. Snow had frozen solid and was lit up by blue hour. The air was clear, not a cloud in the sky.
