Description

Craig Cerrig Gleisiad a Fan Frynych National Nature Reserve

Craig Cerrig Gleisiad a Fan Frynych National Nature Reserve sits in a shrouded valley.  Incredibly just of the main A470 trunk road through the Brecon Beacons National Park.  Alpine by design, a glacial cwm. The reserve has a dramatic steep-sided crags. Created by an ice age around 20,000 years ago they are steep and foreboding. The North facing slopes of which one one a glacier. It is a wonderful location for a walk, steep elevations with dramatic views across the Brecon Beacons, old stone boundaries and lone trees.

Update:

This tree was featured in ITVs Coast and Country. I filmed an episode with them a few years ago. The stone wall still holds strong. Sadly, the tree has since collapsed. Nevertheless, CCG is still a wonderful photography location to visit. Peregrines nest in the crags, kites glide above and down below and stream meanders through.
