Description
Brecon Beacons Panoramic
The slopes of Pen y Fan. Brecon Beacons panoramic image from the summit of South Wales.
The Brecon Beacons are a wonderful emotive location to take and make photographs within. The light changes dramatically and frequently. I made this image on the very cold winters morning, I had just witnessed first light hitting the Northern slopes of pen Y Fan. Commonly called Alpenglow. An orange glow hitting the snow line on the mountains, is a sight to behold.
Witnessing a morning like this is a rare treat.
Where?
The quickest way to get to the top is via Pont ar Daf, near the Storey Arms. There are plenty of places to park. A good stroll can take you to the top in an hour. However, it can take much longer. There are many more enjoyable routes from the North side, near Brecon. This route was from Cwm Gwdi.
