Henrhyd Waterfall Batmans Cave
Henrhyd Waterfall Batmans Cave or Henrhyd Fall is the highest falls in South Wales with a superb plunge from a sandstone ledge of around 90 feet. It’s a rather wonderful fall, especially when in full flow. Is welsh it is called Sgwd Henrhyd
The walk to the falls is a very easy trek down a well worn and managed path, with a small river bridge crossing to take you up the opposite side of the bank, the path then meanders through the bank via a series of wooden boardwalks before bringing you to a viewing area on the side of the bank. Access below the falls is easy and well worth a trip from a walking and/or photography perspective.
Recently, it’s become a rather famous waterfall in the Brecon Beacons due to it’s new famous role as the entrance to the Bat Cave in the film “Batman – the Dark Knight Rises”. The Brecon Beacons have become a magnet for film making over the last few years with many Hollywood blockbuster films using the accessible backdrops and amazing views.
Henrhyd waterfall is well worth your time in the Brecon Beacons and you don’t need to dress up as Batman to enjoy it!
